ONLINE COURSES
There are currently very few good options for trying to learn any Southeast Asian language online. Here are the few I know of:
I have not included self-labeled "online study courses" which are really just a self-study course (most of these are poor to mediocre in quality). The above courses all include interaction with a tutor, which I feel is necessary for most people to really learn much.
- Alpine Training Center, through our tutors, offers a hybrid program that combines guided self-study, homework, face-to-face Skype time, and assigned tutors to help you meet your language goals, for many SE Asian languages (more coming in the future)
- Verbal Planet supposedly offers Thai, Vietnamese, and Javanese online courses with a tutor
- Language Links offers a decent self-study Cebuano course which includes text, audio, and email consultation with the author
